  • Attended Job Fair at the VA – visited with two veterans we know and made arrangements for them to send us their resumes which Patty forwarded on to John Buckley, Military Relations Manager at Koch Industries.

Armed Forces Night at NBC game at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium…Patty picked up and shuttled Vet-To-Vet Members to and from the game; all wore their T-Shirts and sat behind home plate.  Mayor Jeff Longwell came by our seats to specifically meet and say hello to our veterans.  Thank you Steve Gonzales for planning and coordinating an OUTSTANDING pre-game program to honor all of our veterans!

6-10-17  (Sat.) Vet-To-Vet Support Command hosted a special event at Cloud 9 Therapeutic Equine Ranch with 16 participants in attendance.  (Transportation provided as needed.)  Everyone enjoyed riding horses (those that wanted to), fishing and spending time on the ranch.

  • Worked with TJ Smith, owner of U.S. Logo, on website development.
  • Scheduled a meeting with Sedgwick County Manager Mike Scholes for June 5 regarding Veterans Awareness EXPO on August 5.

  • Met with Vet-To-Vet Support Command funder with updates and delivered a picture book of 9 collages that were designed by Neil Fogg, V2VSC Board Member.

  • Received donation from Walmart Foundation from E. Kellogg Store for Vet-To-Vet Support Command.
  • Attended a gathering hosted by Passageways, Jennifer, Sean & Susan, to honor Whiskey from Cloud 9 Therapeutic Equine who passed away recently with a framed poem and blue ribbon presented by Passageways.  Matt Kiddo from Wichita Team RWB also attended.

  • Attended retirement party for Sandy Swank, Director of Case Management for many, many years at Inter-Faith Ministries. 
  • Went by the car show at Central & West, hoping to see Jim Denison conducting 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War Commemorative Pinning Ceremony…however, a little too late

4-27-17  Hutch & Patty:

  • Vet-To-Vet Support Command hosted their semi-annual “Thank you and Congratulations event for WSU Veteran Students” at the Leroy Pitts Military and Veteran Center on WSU Campus with 2 Brothers BBQ lunch and presentation.  Thank you Sarah Sell, Director of Veteran Student Services at WSU. 
  • Follow up visits to several Walmart stores regarding pending Vet-To-Vet Support Command Community grants. 
  • Planning meeting with Jamie & Jason Wohlgemuth, Cloud 9 Therapeutic Equine Foundation, Inc. – growth of our non-profits, financial stability, continued partnering and upcoming events, including Vet-To-Vet Support Command event on June 10.

4-26-17  Patty: 

  • Worked on the 2017 Veteran Awareness EXPO, Vet-To-Vet Support Command contact with veterans and prepared for April 28th VPCSC meeting.

4-25-17 

  • Patty – United Methodist Open Door – Outreach to homeless veterans.
  • Visited two veterans, one who is recuperating from injuries; picked up shower chair that Vet-To-Vet Support Command secured / borrowed for minimal fee from the Medical Loan Closet to return it so someone else to benefit from using now that our veteran is on the mend and does not need it anymore.
  • Hutch & Patty:
  • Continuum of Care (CoC) meeting at United Way – Presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Luella Sanders, Director of Community Impact at the United Way of the Plains from the Veteran Providers’ Coalition of Sedgwick County and Vet-To-Vet Support Command.  Pat Hanrahan, Executive Director of the United Way and approximately 30 non-profits were in attendance.  Thank you Howard Hutchison for heading this outstanding recognition for Luella, which is well deserved.
